My colleague today said something to me after putting down a phone call.
He asked: " Why do people always remember the bad things about others and not the good things?"
I was amused by his sudden outburst and posed him a qn mark. He said that a medical social worker from some hospital recognized his voice by asking whether he is the particular unfriendly L that she has spoken to previously. He then reiterated to me the previous incident that has happened.
I was quite amused by why the social worker dares to say such things but could only reply him that probably it is bcos bad things are more poignant in one's memory thats why they serve to be more outsanding among other memories. I then cheekily offered some comfort to him by saying that I am different from the social worker as I would remember his good bcos he has bought us our favourite muffins previously. :>
I guess I am one who remember significant bad things that have happened unless good things thereafter can serve to override and replace that old. To me, any good memories serve NO purpose if they are unable to last or persist into the future. Thus if they serve no purpose or only cause more distress upon recall, they should be suppressed from memory forever.
Nonetheless, I will try my best to seek the goodness in all mankind. To practise the spirit of forgiveness and generosity. But I am no goddess and do not aim to be one. I can only try within my own limits...
As my horoscope for this mth says:
Accept the fact that one cycle in your life has come to an end and another is beginning. If you realise that the past has gone forever you will be in an ideal position to fully benefit from certain friendly and lively developments just around the corner.
